Volume III, Issue VIII

KEYWORDS:

In two weeks our students will be 'struttin' their stuff on the Music Hall stage and wowing the audience.  The teachers have put in many hours working with their students just for this moment to show their rhythm and grace. We are all excited--teachers, students and parents. The following Saturday everyone will go to the
Power Play Entertainment Center for a day of fun. I am not all the way healed yet, but I am well enough to come back as long as I stay within the boundaries of my physical therapy. Thank you all for your cooperation during the past two months. Please read all announcements.

SCHOLARSHIP FUND RAFFLE

Continue selling raffle tickets for our Scholarship Fund.  We hope to be able to provide scholarships to people in need. We have no graduates this year, which will be beneficial this fall. The raffle will be held during acknowledgements at the end of the recital program. Any remaining raffle tickets will be on sale the night of the recital.

FYI

All students are required to be at the full day, half day and stage recital rehearsals. NO EXCEPTIONS, YOU WERE NOTIFIED IN PLENTY OF TIME.  All parents should be at the Music Hall stage rehearsal to be able to know where their child/children's dressing rooms are, and to know how to get back and forth from the audience to backstage.

The awards program will be held at Trinity A.M.E. Church at 2201 North 5th Street 5th & Greeley) Kansas City, Kansas, Sunday June 9, 2013, at 3:00 p.m.  All students are required to be present to receive their awards. All students will receive trophies, certificates and t-shirts.

The first twenty Scholarship Raffle  tickets should be paid for. If you don't sell them, you should put your name on them and turn them in with the money. Only excess tickets over twenty can be returned in. If you only got twenty tickets, you should be paid for them. All tickets should be filled out properly when turned in. Only turn in tickets with money.

Any students still owing dance fees or recital fees will not be able to perform in the recital unless all fees are paid up. Please check the delinquent lists if you have not paid fees regularly, and see how much you owe. Since July is the only month left, please pay it on time in July. THE STUDIO IS CLOSED THE MONTH OF AUGUST.

DVD's  are not mandatory, but if you wish to purchase one, the price is still $30.00.
We will need at least 15 paid names to get a contract at that price. NO CHECKS, CASH ONLY. Place your paid name (only) on the DVD list up until the end of the recital program, at which time the order will be given to the videographer.

The End-of-Year Schedule is attached to the back of this newsletter. Please observe the times listed for June/July classes.

Makeup & Hairdo: Buy some RED lipstick and eyeliner for recital night makeup. All students should wear their hair back away from their face or in a ponytail. NO HAIR IN THE FACE, such as bangs or dingle curls.

DANCE QUOTE

"Practice means to perform, over and over again, in the face of all obstacles, some act of vision, of faith, of desire. Practice is a means of inviting the perfection desired."
