KEYWORDS:

In our recent teacher’s meeting, it was the decision of the teachers not to have a Christmas program, but to just have a Christmas party for the students on Saturday, December 17, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. There will be games for fun and prizes, lots of drawing numbers for gifts, a dance contest, Christmas costume contest, a creative arts corner for the really little ones, and food and treats.  For those who want to participate in the dance and costume contests,   you should start now preparing for it.  We hope this will be a fun day for all.

As we approach the Thanksgiving holidays let us not forget to share with and do good for those who are in need.  These are the sacrifices that please God.  In His grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well.  So, if God has given you the ability to prophesy, you should speak out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, you should serve them well.  If you are a teacher, teach well.  If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And, if you have the gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.  I believe you should give your best at all times, with sincerity, and God will surely bless you.  Have a blessed Thanksgiving.

June Neal Key
Executive Artistic Director

DANCE QUOTE

“Regarding dependency on mirrors in the dance room – You can adjust your positions and see how you are moving, but the mirror can become complicated when you get lost in it. Later, you discover the kindness of the stage—when the mirror is not there. “  Allegra Kent, Dance Magazine

CANDY PROJECT

The candy project is dragging along. Everyone should make your reports within the next two weeks, and before Thanksgiving weekend.  This project was supposed to end by October 31, 2011.

DANCE, COSTUME, AND RECITAL FEES

No dance fees should continue to be delinquent more than two months.  If you are going into your second month of delinquency, please pay all dance fees up so that your child will be able to continue classes. Also, no costume or recital fees should be paid before dance fees.  Any monies paid will go on dance lessons first, from now until December 17, 2011, when the studio goes into Christmas break.  The Costume order will be mailed December 20, 2011If you think you need to change your child’s size form before the order is mailed, please do so right away.

FYI

I am still asking parents to keep up with your children and not let them run up and down the steps and hallways, or sit on the steps.  We have classes on both the 2nd and 3rd floors and need the stairways clear at all times. I am also asking parents not to stand around the dance room door while classes are going on. Chairs are available when more seating is needed, just ask an office assistant.  COSTUME AND RECITAL FEES ARE DUE NOW, SO DON’T WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE TO PAY THEM.

There are two things that I am trying to put into place: (1) a link on the website where students can access their dance teacher(s) for class notes on class work, (2) a system for credit card payments.  I hope I can have one or both of them in place by January.  You will be notified when I have completed the process.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
If there are any students who have made all A’s on their school grade cards, please turn in that information. Also any other news about students or teachers is welcomed for news in our newsletter.

THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY WEEKEND – Thursday and Saturday classes only (Nov. 24th and Nov. 26th) will be closed. Thursday classes may be moved to another day. Check with teachers.

NOVEMBER BIRTHDAYS
(We have no students with birthdays in November)

A THANKFUL HEART

Take nothing for ranted, for whenever you do
The “joy of enjoying” is lessened for you-
For we rob our own lives much more than we know
When we fail to respond or in any way show
Our thanks for the blessings that daily are ours…
The warmth of the sun, the fragrance of flowers,
The beauty of twilight, the freshness of dawn,
The coolness of dew on a green velvet lawn,
The kind little deeds so thoughtfully done,
The favor of friends and the love that someone
Unselfishly gives us in a myriad of ways,
Expecting no payment and no words of praise-
Oh, great is our loss when we no longer find
A thankful response to things of this kind,
For the Joy of Enjoying and the Fullness of Living
Are found in the heart that is filled with Thanksgiving.
