KEYWORDS:
I am pleased to say that the students are doing very well in their classes and the attendance has been fair, but could be better. Consistency in attendance is what makes progress. The months of November and December will be short months, especially for the Saturday classes, because of the upcoming Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. The students will be learning routines for the Christmas show, which is scheduled for December 17, 2011 , so perfect attendance will be necessary. The parents have been steadily making their candy project reports, and we are looking forward to making a report of our profit. Hopefully we can include that report in our next newsletter. Halloween is coming up soon and I know this is a fun day for the children, so I will just say, be very careful and safe when you go out to do your “trick or treating”, but have a good time.
OBSERVATION WEEK
The first week of November will be our first observation of classes starting on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 through Monday, November 7, 2011 . Parents are encouraged to come to these observations class days to see how well your children are learning. We only have two observation days a year. The next observation week will be in February 2012. In the meantime, you should encourage your children to be attentive to their teacher(s) and have good behavior at all times in order to receive the best instruction.
DANCE QUOTE
“My goal is to challenge our students to their fullest potential, and to refuse to recognize the status quo. I like to take my greatest talents and ask it to do the impossible, amazing things”. June Neal Key
FUNDRAISERS
The candy fundraiser project is going very well, according to the project leader. Reporting time is due, so all reports should be made as soon as possible so I can make a report of the outcome. No one, as yet, has sent in any ideas for the end of the year activity. I do have some things in mind that I think would be fun, so if there are no ideas sent in by next month, I will tell you what those ideas are so I can act on them.
STUDIO ANNOUNCEMENTS
Our newsletter is our major source for announcements. Please read all studio announcements in the newsletter to stay informed. If you go by word of mouth information, you just might get the wrong information. If there are any announcements you would like to make, please get them to me by the end of the month. Also, monthly delinquent lists and reminder flyers will be posted on a regular basis, so always check for posted information in the seating area and the office door.
FYI
I am asking all parents to watch your children and not let them run up and down the steps and hallways, or sit on the steps. We have classes on both floors and the stairways should be clear at all times. If you should see any child on the stairways, please ask them to take a seat on the bench or in a chair. Ask an Office Assistant for a chair if none are available in the hallway. COSTUME FEES AND RECITAL FEES ARE NOW DUE. The deadline date for both of them is November 30, 2011 , so do not wait until the last minute. The costume order will be mailed no later than December 20, 2011.
